Meet the face
behind the posts
My name is April and I wanted to create a brand, website, and place where black women can begin their healing journey. I myself didn't start this journey until I was 28 years old, and I am still taking one day or trauma at a time. I found it difficult at the beginning and didn't know how to unpack my emotions or trauma. I just knew that something was wrong, but had no blueprint to begin the healing process. People just tell you go to therapy! Even though that is a good start, there are sooooo many avenues one can take to find inner peace. I want to share my information, my own testimonies, research, techniques and different ways to bring peace and help others find their light.

A little about myself...well I am a 33-year-old boy mom, wife, daughter, cousin, friend, caregiver, sister, niece. I am nurse with loads of experience, advent lover of travel, food, video games, and sleep (No more sleep now that I am a mom!).

My trauma began in childhood....my mother was disabled when I was 8, which completely changed our family dynamic and trajectory of my life. I entered into an abusive relationship that last for over 10 years. I share these things to one normalize speaking about not so fun stuff and to show that everyone has a past and that does not have to define our future.
